Costa Rica has some of the best Sport Fishing in the World. The Pacific Coast provides a big variety of sea life. Sailfish are the main targets for most anglers and they are seldom disappointed. Offshore fishing is normally done 12-20 miles out in blue water. Once in the blue water anglers catch Sailfish, Marlin, Tuna, Dorado and Wahoo. Inshore fishing is done around islands, rocks and reefs where anglers catch Roosterfish, Snapper, Jacks, Mackerel and more.

Gulf of Papagayo has been great for inshore and offshore fishing due much kind of migratory and not migratory species whom come to this area, making Golfo de Papagayo a very productive fishing area year around.

The very famous Bat islands at the north side of Gulf of Papagayo has been great for Roosterfish, big Cuberas, Wahoo and of course giant Marlin and hundred pound sailfish.

These waters are considered some of the finest in the world for blue marlin. Seen year round, most catches are made during December, January, February, March and April. The rare striped marlin is also occasionally caught in our waters.
